Women's Ministry

Faith Centre Women's Ministry Network was launched on October 11th,2001. It was a vision turned into reality as our Bishop envisaged a Women's group for our church. This vision has been entrusted to all women of Faith Centre led by myself, Indra Sidial, under the counsel and direction of our First Lady and Director of Ministries - Rev. Dr. Marilyn Chankersingh.

The Women’s Ministry Network aims to help women grow and develop and take them to a higher level. Our goals and objectives clearly focus on networking for the good of all women according to Colossians 1:10, “We pray this, in order that we may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, and growing in the knowledge of God”.

The Mission Statement of this ministry is the same as the church and that is to bring people to Jesus Christ and membership in His family.

The women of Faith Centre, serve the church in a variety of areas that includes hospitality, ministering to the shut-ins, hospital and prison visitation, preparation of Holy Communion, taking care of the needs of families who suffer a loss, and many other areas of ministry.

Over the years, this Ministry has helped to bond women through activities such as Workshops, Retreats, Bible Studies, Prayer Meetings and various celebrations and gatherings which highlight the church’s calendar. We have structured events that add to the practical and spiritual development of women.

All activities are organized by a women's ministry team. The purpose of the team is to pray, plan, prepare and present activities according to the Vision and the goals of the ministry. The activities we plan during the year are evaluated in light of our objectives. These ultimately help our church as our ladies are challenged to think biblically and build relationships that establish stronger church family ties.

One of the women’s favorite activities is a monthly event called, ”Coffee With A Difference”. This occurs on the third Friday of each month and has served to evangelize and disciple women of all ages and walks of life. It is a time when women are invited to intentionally bring their unsaved friends and loved ones to a time of fellowship and empowerment. This event began in April 2007 with an attendance of twelve women and to this present time, has seen as many as two hundred and fifty women attending over the period of time. There is an average of approximately ten visitors who come each month and are ministered to through the Word and Prayer. There is no charge to attend and the women volunteer in taking turns to supply refreshments which are served at the end of the session.

Another recent event that we added to our Network is ”The Prayer Garden”. This is held on the second Saturday of each month. Its purpose is to strengthen our kinship with our sisters, as our thoughts and prayers reach out to each other and to various prayer requests. The aim is to be deliberate about stepping out of our busy lives for a few moments to reclaim one hour in prayer and reflection.

As the Women’s Ministry continues to serve, we work diligently towards raising up dedicated and consecrated women of God, who would leave a rich legacy to the next generation.

Women’s Ministry Leader, Indra Sidial.
