“The Mission Of The Church Is Missions”

Through the years our Bishop has held both local and foreign missions as an important part of the Ministry. Supporting with personnel and financially he has helped to build a church in Russia and Guyana, sent Bibles to China, purchased sound and music equipment along with motor bikes for Pastors in India.

Rev. Dr Elizabeth Shand, a wife, mother civil servant and minister whose desire for missions began when she taught the subject Missions in Bible School became the Director of Missions. She launched the ‘Foot Soldier Ministry’ which became the ‘core group’ for the Mission endeavours.

In 1999, she led the first missions group to Guyana, taking her dedicated team to the interior with Min. Jerome Bethel as Assistant Leader, Rita Koylass – Children Ministry Leader along with other dedicated workers. They consistently visited and ministered there every year from 1999 to 2013. Many of the trips to and from the interior villages were hazardous on the rivers – 8 hours by boat and through rough terrain for 72 miles in an army truck – sitting on the floor with intermittent showers – covering themselves with tarpaulin. In Kurupung they established a work , built a church and parsonage and supported a local Pastor. Some of the places they ministered were Kurupung, Bartica, Essenera. Issano and Tasserene.

In 2007 they went to St Vincent and did the Toronto Challenge in Canada. Our youth missions trips take teens to Tobago and Dominica to work alongside other ministries.

Our local mission include outpost throughout the nation, radio programmes and social work. Missions Conference 2013 included Bishop Jacob of India and ITNAC from Hati.
